Air Lagon Parapente has been the paragliding pioneer of Reunion Island since 1984, founded by John Jourdain, who made the island's first-ever paragliding flight in November 1984.
Based in Saint-Leu on the west coast of Reunion Island, Air Lagon offers tandem paragliding flights over the turquoise lagoon, ranked among the world's finest flying sites.
With over 42 years of experience and 50,000 flights completed, Air Lagon is the only paragliding operator in Reunion Island holding the Quality Tourism label and the Tourism Award 2008 awarded by the Ministry of Tourism.
Flights are open from age 4 and led by state-certified instructors. 5 formulas are available: Vol Découverte (90 euros, 15-20 min from 800 m), Vol Long (100 euros, 25-30 min from 800 m), Vol Extra Long (115 euros, 30-40 min from 800 m), Vol Panoramique (140 euros, 25-30 min from 1600 m), and Vol du Maïdo (299 euros, 45-60 min from 2200 m).
Air Lagon is also a paragliding school: it has been training solo pilots since 1984 across three levels — introductory course, improvement 1 and improvement 2 — up to preparation for the pilot licence.
Reunion Island enjoys exceptional flying conditions with around 300 flyable days per year. The dry season from May to November offers the most stable conditions.
