The Long Flight takes off from Les Colimaçons, at 800 m, and holds twenty-five to thirty minutes in the air. Close to double the Discovery Flight in flying time.
The flight
Once the first height is gained, the flight turns into a wander. You go out to meet the tropicbirds, follow the ravines with their Creole names and the west coast, and work the lift. Just before landing, the lagoon of Saint-Leu opens up the reef and the turtles. The state-certified instructor flies from take-off to landing; he can leave you the controls for a moment in the air, if you want them.
Who it is for
For those who would rather look at the landscape than cross it. No experience is asked for: the flight is open from age 4, from 20 to 120 kg. This is the middle package at Air Lagon, more time in the air than the Discovery Flight, from the same take-off.
Good to know
We meet near Kélonia, at the northern entrance to Saint-Leu, fifteen minutes before the agreed time. Allow €100 per person. The HD photo and video option, at €20, puts a GoPro on board for the whole flight. Postponement is free if the weather calls for it.
